Analysis
The analysis domain contains the functionality used by laboratory personnel to manage the samples through their life-cycle and the laboratory work. |
Registration Management:
The registration management functionality provides for easy sample registration, it includes features such as requests creation, samples login and analysis assignment. This function is mainly intended for sample reception personnel.
Registration Prelog
LabPlus provides prelog capabilities; registration can be pre-logged by any remote users from any locations and even be automated through the LabPlus Web Service Interface.
Sample Management:
The sample management functionality provides access to the sample attributes, requested methods (sample backlog) along with their status, and the ability to assign new methods to the sample.
Samples Tracking
LabPlus provides full tracking of samples, including a full audit and history.
Work Assignment :
The work assignment functionality provides the ability to generate worksheets and to assign work to an analyst and/or an instrument. In LabPlus, four mode of assignment are available: by analysis, by sample, by worksheet or by sample-method providing the flexibility needed to meet the functional requirements of any laboratory.
Backlog Management
LabPlus provides an easy access to the laboratory backlog which is the key for reducing the laboratory’s response time.
Lab Work:
The Lab Work functionality is used to enter results in the system. The result entry screen uses the AJAX technology to provide real-time validation and feedback to the user in the event of entry errors or out of specifications results. The result entry screen also provides result formatting and calculations and access to methods and SOP documents.
Result and Units
In order to improve and facilitate the results reporting LabPlus implements a distinction between raw, formatted, and for calculation results. It also integrates the ability to support multiple measurement units per test (U.I. Units) which provides native support of unit conversions and results reporting in multiple formats. The resulting validation, calculation, and formatting take into accounts these conversions.
Quality Controls
QA/QC functions are designed to provide increased capabilities and allow improved tracking and control of lab operations. All quality controls integrate similar attributes and provide enhanced capabilities such as charting, the ability to manage multilayer (category and types) of controls, automatic calculations for % recoveries, accuracy, etc. It is possible to define validation and control plans by methods, but in addition it will also be possible to define them for worksheets, instruments, etc. Hence, the scope for controls, such as calibrations and blanks, can be global to a method for a given period of time or be valid within the scope of a worksheet.
Graphical Charting Object
LabPlus provides the ability to display and print charts for controls and sample results.
Instrument Interfaces
Result entry can be automated through the use of the standard-compliant XML-based LabPlus Web Service Iinterface.

If needed, reports can be subjected to a review and approval cycle. Multiple types of analytical reports are supported including: preliminary reports, official reports, amended reports and supplemental reports.
