Imagine how easy it would be to produce graphics and reports, if you had a tool that allowed you to import LabPlus data into Excel. This is exactly what LabLink the Excel “Add-In” module was designed to do.
LabLink shines by its simplicity, its performance and its possibilities.
Is LabLink for you?
LabLink was designed to be very accessible. External users (operators, managers, etc.) as well as laboratory users (technicians, chemists, etc.) will find it a very simple tool to access LabPlus data. No programming is required, and data from the LabPlus database is securely accessed.
With LabLink beginners and advanced users will be able to rapidly execute “Ad-Hoc “queries and display LabPlus data the way they intend to. The LabLink module takes LabPlus graphical and reporting capabilities a step further. In fact once you start using LabLink, you will never again be satisfied by other graphical and reporting tools.
Functionality:
Simplicity The success of a new technology is often impaired by a difficult to use interface. But that is not the case for LabLink, because the concept and the interface are very simple. With LabLink what you want is what you get; you do not need to be a LabPlus data model expert or to know how to use MS-Query.
Query configuration Extracting data from LabPlus implies that somehow a query gets data from the database. With LabLink this is done by using the included query editor that guides you through the assembly of the query. Defining a query consists of selecting the fields to insert from scrolling lists, the criteria to use and the sort order. Thus, knowing what you want is the only requirement. Once queries are edited, they are saved and can be reused at any time.
Performance LabLink is very fast. In a few milliseconds it can extract more than 1000 values from the LabPlus database. This exceptional performance makes LabLink the ideal tool for users that need rapid access to lab data.
Applications With LabLink data can be extracted from the LabPlus database in two manners: as data (static values) and as functions (dynamic arrays).
The Data mode is used for ad hoc queries and for timely report production. When data is extracted in this manner the report can be saved as is.
Functions, on the other hand, allow the assembly of report templates that will be refreshed with the current data each time the report is reopened. In this mode, it is possible to obtain a new graphic or report each day, simply by reloading the same file.
Both ways of extracting data allow the user of all of Excel’s functions (graphic production, printing, calculations, etc.).
Security LabLink uses LabPlus security to restrict access to data by using user identification.
LabPlus is a global quality data management system that will provide consistent, accurate and timely quality information meeting the needs of your organization.
