During the 1994-2004 period LabPlus (version 1 and 2) was developed in Visual Basic, and designed as client-server architecture.  A Microsoft Access environment was allowing clients to easily develop and integrate new features, custom reports and more. 

Back in 2000, the LabPlus development team used the state-of-the-art technology to develop LabPlus CE, a “mobile’ system for field sample collection.

In 2005 an e-LabPlus web application was offered to enable clients to distribute laboratory reports throughout their website as well as allow the laboratory data review on line. 

Working with various laboratories, LabPlus Technologies further understood the needs for true web-based LIMS that laboratories were requesting.  Such requests were mainly about:

• Easier integration; nothing to install on workstation.

• Rapid return on investment meaning a faster configuration cycle.

• Simplify the system management by using files only; no more stand-alone modules such as interface, sample collection, sample inventory modules that hinder the flexibility of the system when changes are coming…
