LabPlus System Installation |
|
The objective is to get the LabPlus system up and running in order to let you begin the configuration phase of the LIMS implementation. The package includes the installation of the LabPlus server and one client PC.
LabPlus Installation Phases
Phase 1: System design and order
In this first phase we complete the design questionnaire and size the LabPlus server and client stations to obtain the desired performance. The customer orders and ships the hardware and software to LabPlus Technologies staging facilities.
Phase 2: Installation and testing of LabPlus at LabPlus Technologies staging facilities
In this phase, LabPlus Technologies installs the database engine (Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server) and the LabPlus server software. The system is fully tested and shipped back to the customer's site.
Phase 3: On-site installation and test
In this phase the LabPlus system is commissioned on site. A LabPlus client station is installed and tested. If bar code equipment is present, it is configured and tested.
LabPlus Installation Phases

- Completion of the system design questionnaire
- Installation of the Database engine at LabPlus Technologies staging facilities
- Installation of the licensed LabPlus software at LabPlus Technologies staging facilities (LabPlus data model, configuration of the database devices according to the design questionnaire, the security key, the WorkList generator, and the Specification Monitor)
- System testing at LabPlus Technologies staging facilities
- On-site installation of the LabPlus server
- Basic configuration of system security (4 users are created on the server for test purposes)
- On-site installation of one LabPlus client workstation and testing (Bar code equipment, ODBC driver and all licensed client software are installed: LabPlus, LabLink and LinkPlus)

Prerequisites
|
|
- Signed LabPlus license agreement.
- The hardware and software for the LabPlus server and stations must comply with the system requirements.
- The LabPlus server hardware and operating system must be operational and delivered to the LabPlus Technologies staging facility.
- The customer must supply the database engine license (Oracle or MS-SQL Server).

Options

- Installation and testing of a label printer (1/2 day)
- Installation and testing of an extra client workstation (1/2 day)
- Setup and test telecommunication for technical support (1/2 day)
- Setup and test backup procedure (SQL Server Only) (1 day)
- Installation of Windows 2000 or 2003 on server or workstation with basic configuration (1/2 day).

LabPlus Configuration Phases

Phase 1: Kick-off meeting and data collection visit
In this phase our LabPlus experts visit the laboratory and collect the configuration data.
Phase 2: Off-site configuration and revision
In this phase, our LabPlus experts transfer the configuration information into the LabPlus configuration document.
Milestone A: Acceptance of the configuration document.
Phase 3: On-site configuration and testing.
In this phase, the configuration is entered into the LabPlus system. Then the LabPlus system is tested.

LabPlus Configuration Steps
|
|
- Configuration of the tests and parameters according to the customer's approved specifications (Maximum of 30 parameters and of 30 tests per parameter, including calculated tests and controls configuration)
- Configuration of the static tables according to the customer's approved specifications (Maximum of 100 records per static table)
- Configuration of LabPlus security (Maximum of 20 users)
- Kick-off meeting (objectives: Explain static list, parameter/test concept and establish configuration standards)
- Configuration of the LabPlus Worklist generator
- Configuration of the products and product specifications (maximum of 50 product specifications)
- Documentation of the final configuration

- The LabPlus system must be functional.
- The customer must provide the configuration information and remain available for further questions and validation.

Limitations
|
|
The configuration fixed fee service is based on a system that has: |
|
- a maximum of 30 parameters and of 30 tests per parameter.
- a maximum of 5 calculated tests per parameter.
- a maximum of 5 quality control tests per parameter.
- calculations using less than 10 standard mathematical operations (No custom LabPlus Functions).
- a maximum of 50 product specifications.

Exclusions
|
|
- Custom reports development.
- Functional and optional module configuration (Invoicing, Specification Monitor and PI-LabPlus Interface).

Please note that the price of this fixed fee service varies with the complexity of the configuration required and the format and quality of the raw data provided.
This service typically requires between 3 and 4 weeks. It includes 5 days on-site. Two days for the kick off meeting and the data collection and 3 days for the entry of the configuration data in the system.

LimsLink and Interface Server Installation
|
|
The objective of this service is to install and test the LimsLink and the LabPlus Interface server. |
|
Installation Steps
|
|
- Order the LimsLink software from Labtronics.
- Installation and testing of the LimsLink software and the special functions.
- Installation and testing of the LimsLink to LabPlus Interface Server.
- Validation of communication between LimsLink and LabPlus (Installation of a demo that sends values to LabPlus from a text file).

Prerequisites
|
|
- The LabPlus system must be functional.
- The customer must supply a configured and compliant Windows workstation for the LimsLink station.
- The customer must supply a configured and compliant Windows workstation for the LimsLink to LabPlus Interface Server station.

|

|
|
|
e-LabPlus Installation
|
|
The objective of this service is to install and test the e-LabPlus module. The e-LabPlus module's usage varies from customer to customer. This service includes a half-day informal training session and demonstrates how to manage and use the module to configure pages, users, and security. |

e-LabPlus Installation Phases
|
|
Phase 1: Choice of the type of Implementation for the e-LabPlus deployment.
The customer orders the e-LabPlus web server and does the installation of the chosen network security architecture.
Phase 2: Installation and testing of e-LabPlus on-site
In this phase, LabPlus Technologies installs the e-LabPlus module and the import/export tool for data replication. The module is fully tested and the transfer of data is validated.
Phase 3: On site configuration and test
In this phase the e-LabPlus module is commissioned on site. Configuration and management training is given to the e-LabPlus system manager; some users and pages are configured and the network connection tested.
